The South Bay is one of the 16 neighborhoods in Southwest Los Angeles County. The South Bay is home to some of the most pristine beaches along Southern California, many of the most expensive homes anywhere in the US, and home to world-class resorts and dining.
The diversity of people that call the South Bay home are business executives, athletes, celebrities, entrepreneurs, surfers, and those who enjoy coastal living blended with the city of Los Angeles as a backdrop. Many are extremely affluent, college educated and enjoy the casual laid-back beach lifestyle that comes with living in sunset paradise.
Many locals refer to living in Manhattan Beach as living within “The Bubble”, because most residents are found lounging around on the beach, hitting the stacks in the local surf spots, playing beach volleyball all summer long, enjoying concerts in the park, hitting the golf courses on the hill of Palos Verdes, horseback riding in their private pastures in behind the gates in Rolling Hills Estates, cycling along The Strand, escaping for a staycation at Terranea Resort, whale watching, boating and countless other fun coastal activities. With so much to participate there’s little reason to leave the South Bay, except when rooting for the Rams, catching a Lakers or Clippers game at Staples Center, a concert/show at the Hollywood Bowl, enjoying baseball at Dodgers Stadium or encouraging a hometown college rival between USC and UCLA.
There’s plenty of reason to call South Bay home.
